CLASSES

CLASSES

Our classes are specially designed to cater for different learning needs and age groups, including for families, schools and youths outreach activities. Program can be a single introductory or a series of sessions encompassing learning fundamental computational skills using intuitive block based programming. Team projects can be included to encourage collaboration and teamwork with ideation, designing and building prototypes of real world solutions.

Curious Robot Maker

LEGO WeDo 2.0 is a hands-on STEM solution that combines the LEGO brick, classroom-friendly software, engaging standards-based projects and a discovery based approach. Designed with collaboration in mind, LEGO WeDo 2.0 introduces learners to computational thinking and engineering principles in a fun and engaging way. This introductory course is designed for beginner new to the world of robotics. With projects applying science and engineering concept, student will focus on different elements of basic robotic movement and understand how motor, gears, pulleys and sensors work together to perform various tasks using block-based programming to bring their LEGO built to life. Suitable for ages 7-14.

Curious Coder

SCRATCH is a popular block-based visual programming language developed by the MIT Media Lab. Coding includes dragging and dropping various code blocks and linking them together like jigsaw pieces to form logical scripts. It is as an ideal way to introduce beginner learners to computer programming and computational thinking. Projects include games creation, interactive stories, and animations, but it can be used for any purpose. The language helps students to think creatively, reason logically and work collaboratively. Suitable for ages 8-14.

Curious Inventor

MIT App Inventor is a brilliant way to instil creativity and inspire learning for beginners to make mobile apps that work in the real world. Learners could create fun and useful apps like tourist destination maps and phone alerts. The possibilities are endless. Similar to Scratch, App Inventor uses block based programming. This is a great place to start for those with little or no programming knowledge. What makes the App Inventor so engaging is that it enables learner to design, code and instantaneously test their app on an Android phone or tablet. It allows user to upload images and sound of their choice, tells the app what to do by using intuitive drag-and-drop programming blocks. Suitable for ages 9 and above.
